GENERAL NOTES about the Uniform:
It is desirable to purchase all items, other than footwear through the school. Parents may decide to purchase some items elsewhere, but they must be identical to the standard items. Second hand items are sold through the school.
The school’s supplier can not provide 100% cotton polo shirts. It is possible for the school to arrange the embroidery of the logo on polo shirts purchased elsewhere by parents.
All items above except the scarf, described as “official” have the school logo on them.
The combined height of heel plus sole of shoes or sandals, may be no higher than 5cm when measured at the very back.
Sandals must have a strap around the rear of the student’s ankle.
A student arriving at school towards the end of the year, or a student who has clearly outgrown his/her uniform before the end of the year, may, by arrangement, be permitted to wear the uniform of the next group up.
The pinafore and skirts are made out of polyester viscose “Ancient Green Douglas” tartan. Pure wool garments are available on request, but are much more expensive, and reasonable notice needs to be given.
Boys “Walk” socks are worn to just below knee length, and are not standard socks stretched upwards. All socks must be pulled up when worn.
Wearing of sweatshirt or woollen jersey on warm days is optional. If a sweatshirt or jersey is worn, the shirt collar must be outside the sweatshirt or jersey. Woollen Jersey will be phased in from date of supply till being compulsory in April 2012.
All shirts must be tucked in.
Navy Blue hats with a full brim are highly recommended for lunchtimes in terms 1&4; and are compulsory on many trips and activities.
If a Y9 or Y10 student chooses to wear the formal blouse or shirt it must be worn with the scarf or tie.
Official Blue Blazer available “on loan” from stock for college students representing the school on formal occasions. The full uniform code for these formal representative occasions available from the school office.
UNIFORM SALES: This service is available through the school office. The school seeks to make no profit through uniform sales, but has a mark up of approximately 10% to recover some of the operating costs. Items marked in italics, on the previous page are items the school does not generally supply, however in some cases we can order them in. Otherwise you should purchase through the school to ensure uniformity, as any clothing looking different will not be permitted.

SWIMMING TOGS
Swimming togs are needed for some school activities. We are happy with appropriate T-shirts being worn over recognized swimwear, but this may be subject to the rules of the facility we go to. College girls’ swimwear must include boardshorts, and girls’ midriffs must not be visible. Speedos for boys, if worn, must have boardshorts over the top.
