At Ponatahi Christian School our Christian values shape who we are and how we live together as a community. Rooted in God’s Word, these values guide our learning, relationships, and service, encouraging us to grow in character and Christlikeness. They remind us that education is not only about knowledge, but more importantly, about living with respect, love, and integrity in all we do by faith in Jesus Christ, for His glory and the building of His Kingdom. They are:

Romans 12: 9-11: “Let love be without dissimulation [hypocrisy]. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good...:” Integrity “Be kindly affectioned one to another…:” Kindness “with brotherly love…:” Fellowship "in honour preferring one another...:” Respect "Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord.” Diligence.
Respect – We honour every person as made in God’s image, treating others with humility and care.
"Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king" 1 Peter 2:17.
“Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves” Philippians 2:3.
Diligence – We work hard and persevere, striving to grow with the gifts God gives us.
"And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men" Colossians 3:23.
“Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord” (Romans 12:11).
Integrity – We live honestly and uprightly, sincerely speaking and acting according to God’s truth.
“Let love be without dissimulation (hypocrisy). Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good” (Romans 12:9).
Fellowship – We serve each other and our community by sharing love and promoting the wellbeing of others.
“Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others” Philippians 2:4.
“Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ” Galatians 6:2.
Kindness – We show compassion and forgiveness, reflecting the love of Christ.
“And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you" (Ephesians 4:32).
