School Board (BOT)

The School Board serves to govern our school in a way that honours Christ and upholds our special character.  The Board’s role is to set the vision, guide the direction of the school, and ensure we remain faithful to our Christian values while providing high-quality education.

The Board:

  • Sets the school’s vision, goals, and policies in line with our Christian special character
  • Oversees the budget, property, and resources
  • Ensures the school meets all legal and compliance obligations
  • Supports, encourages, and evaluates the principal’s leadership
  • Partners with parents, staff, and the community in the work of Christian education

Who’s on the Board?

  • Parent Representatives – elected by the school community to bring a parent voice that supports our Christian mission
  • Staff Representative – elected by the staff to represent their perspectives
  • Principal – the Board’s adviser and the leader of the school
  • Proprietor’s Representatives – appointed by the Proprietor board to ensure the Christian special character is maintained
  • Student Representative – elected by students to share their views

The Principal’s Role
The principal is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and management of the school, ensuring that teaching, learning, and school life reflect our Christian values and the direction set by the Board.

Working Together
The Board governs with wisdom and prayer, the principal manages with servant leadership, and together we partner with families to equip students to grow in knowledge, faith, and character.

Elections:
School Board elections are usually held every three years in a nationwide cycle.  This is a valuable opportunity for parents to serve and support our Christian school.

  • Student Representative Elections – Student reps are elected annually in September.
  • Staff & Parent Representative Elections – Held every three years.
  • Proprietor’s Representatives are appointed by the school’s proprietor rather than elected, and may be appointed at any time.  Proprietor representatives usually have a three-year term.
